Are you a detail-driven accounting professional in Murfreesboro, TN, looking for your next career move? SRM Concrete, a national leader in the ready-mix concrete industry, is seeking a full-time, on-site Staff Accountant to join our growing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for accountants seeking growth in Middle Tennessee accounting jobs, especially those with experience in GAAP compliance, ERP systems, and full-cycle accounting.

Your Mission & Key Responsibilities

  • Own the close: Prepare monthly and quarterly account reconciliations and support all month-end close activities.
  • Support audits & reporting: Gather documentation, answer auditor questions, and help prepare quarterly and year-end reports.
  • Analyze & advise: Investigate variances, resolve complex issues, and present clear recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Strengthen controls: Document processes, develop accounting policies, and champion best practices to ensure GAAP compliance.
  • Optimize workflows: Evaluate current procedures and partner with teams to boost efficiency and productivity.
  • Mentor & collaborate: Share knowledge, train fellow accountants, and participate in cross-functional projects as needed.
  • Full-cycle accounting: Manage journal entries, accruals, fixed assets, AP/AR review, and other core duties.
  • Meet deadlines: Balance multiple priorities, communicate proactively, and consistently meet critical deadlines.

 

What Sets You Apart

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 2+ years of experience in public accounting or private-sector staff accountant roles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks, Concur, advanced Excel, and ERP systems.
  • Strong knowledge of general and cost accounting principles with strict adherence to GAAP.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to help wherever needed.
  • Willingness to complete SRM’s standard pre-employment screenings.
